Our Addiction Treatment Process in East Providence
Comprehensive Assessment & Medical Evaluation
Every client begins with a full clinical assessment, including substance use history, psychiatric evaluation, physical health screening, and risk assessment. Our licensed clinicians and medical staff identify withdrawal risk, co-occurring disorders, and treatment needs.
We evaluate:
- Type and duration of substance use
- Overdose history
- Mental health conditions
- Medication needs
- Family and social support
This personalized evaluation allows us to design a tailored detox and rehab plan that addresses both addiction and underlying mental health concerns. The result is safer detox, better outcomes, and a clear roadmap to recovery.
Detox is often the most physically challenging stage of recovery. Our medical detox program includes:
- 24/7 nursing supervision
- Physician oversight
- MAT (Suboxone, naltrexone, methadone taper)
- Withdrawal symptom management
- Clinical stabilization
Clients remain comfortable and medically monitored throughout the detox process. Unlike attempting to detox at home in East Providence, medical supervision dramatically reduces health risks and relapse likelihood.
After detox, clients transition into structured inpatient rehab or residential treatment. This environment removes external triggers while providing daily therapy, skill-building, and peer support.
Treatment includes:
- CBT and DBT
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family counseling
- Trauma-informed care
- Relapse prevention planning
Our evidence-based, whole-person healing approach addresses addiction’s root causes—not just surface behaviors.
Treating addiction without addressing mental health often leads to relapse.
Many individuals seeking addiction treatment in East Providence also struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or bipolar disorder.
Our dual diagnosis program integrates psychiatric care, medication management, and therapy into one cohesive treatment plan.
By treating both conditions simultaneously, we improve long-term recovery success.
Recovery doesn’t end at discharge. We provide structured aftercare planning, outpatient referrals, alumni support, and relapse prevention strategies.
Whether returning to Riverside, Rumford, or elsewhere in Providence County, you’ll leave with:
- A personalized aftercare plan
- Continued therapy recommendations
- Recovery community resources
- Ongoing accountability support
This continuity of care strengthens your foundation for lifelong sobriety.
Opioid & Fentanyl Addiction
Common Addiction Issues We Treat in East Providence
Opioid & Fentanyl Addiction
Opioid addiction—including heroin, oxycodone, fentanyl, and methadone dependence—has deeply impacted communities throughout Providence County and East Providence. Fentanyl, in particular, has significantly increased overdose risk due to its potency. Symptoms often include intense cravings, flu-like withdrawal symptoms, depression, and repeated relapse cycles. Attempting to detox alone can result in severe discomfort, dehydration, or even life-threatening complications.
Our Solution:
Shore Point Recovery provides medical detox with 24/7 clinical monitoring, MAT options like Suboxone or methadone taper protocols, and comprehensive inpatient rehab. We stabilize withdrawal symptoms safely and transition you into structured therapy, relapse prevention planning, and long-term recovery support. Same-day admissions are available to reduce overdose risk and begin treatment immediately.
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)
Common Addiction Challenges
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)
Alcohol addiction remains one of the most common reasons individuals seek alcohol rehab in East Providence. Withdrawal can include tremors, anxiety, insomnia, high blood pressure, and, in severe cases, seizures or delirium tremens (DTs). Many individuals underestimate alcohol withdrawal, which can become medically dangerous without supervision.
Our Solution:
Our medical detox program for alcohol includes physician oversight, psychiatric evaluation, and symptom management protocols. After stabilization, clients transition into inpatient rehab with CBT, DBT, individual counseling, and group therapy. We address both physical dependence and the emotional drivers of alcohol misuse, helping you build sustainable coping skills.
Cocaine & Crystal Meth Addiction
Common Addiction Challenges
Cocaine & Crystal Meth Addiction
Stimulant abuse—including cocaine and crystal meth—often leads to intense psychological cravings, sleep disruption, mood instability, and paranoia. In East Providence and surrounding areas near the I-195 corridor, stimulant addiction continues to affect working professionals and young adults alike.
Our Solution:
We provide structured residential treatment focused on behavioral therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and relapse prevention. Our clinical team also treats co-occurring depression, anxiety, or PTSD through dual diagnosis treatment, ensuring you receive comprehensive care—not just symptom management.
Prescription Drug Addiction
Common Addiction Challenges
Prescription Drug Addiction
Prescription drug misuse—especially benzodiazepines like Xanax and stimulants like Adderall—can escalate quickly. Benzodiazepine withdrawal may cause seizures or panic attacks if stopped abruptly, while stimulant misuse can result in severe depression and fatigue.
Our Solution:
We implement carefully managed taper protocols under medical supervision for anyone struggling with prescription drug addiction, followed by individualized therapy and psychiatric care. Our team ensures safe detox, emotional stabilization, and long-term recovery planning.

Real Stories. Lasting Recovery.
Shore Point Recovery proudly serves individuals and families nationwide, providing comprehensive drug and alcohol addiction treatment at every location. Guided by a compassionate team and an evidence-based clinical approach, each center upholds the same steadfast commitment to personalized care and lasting recovery.

The facility itself was clean, calm, and well-organized, which made a huge difference during detox. The medical team was professional and responsive, and I felt supported both physically and emotionally throughout my stay.
If you or a loved one are looking for a detox center where people actually care and treat you like a human being—not just a patient—I would absolutely recommend ShorePoint Detox.

The therapy staff is incredible. Each therapist has their own unique perspective to care and recovery. Regardless of who you are assigned they genuinely want to see you succeed. Tommy is full of laughs and wisdom. He has taken the time to get to know me and my story and taken accountability when I did not feel heard at times.
The nursing staff on the whole very caring. However, they could benefit from more communication and organization internally. Sonia the Nurse Practitioner is very nice and took the time to ensure I was educated on medications before taking them. Angel, Gabe, Derrick, Jimmy, and Delaney are exceptional.
The resident Psychiatrist is extremely intelligent and straightforward. I think the Shore Point staff could benefit from a doctor who can be here more presently from day to day.
Gail and Becca from case work go above and beyond and are always finding ways to ease clients minds about their plans. They make the patients here feel supported in their financial concerns and as well as in their recovery. They make an incredible team.
The groups offered here are very diverse. The topics allowed me to explore recovery from an educational, practical, and spiritual perspective. They have been by far the best part of the experience for me. Even when I don’t identify with some of the sentiments shared by the group facilitators it has challenged and affirmed my own belief systems.
The Behavior Health Techs are incredibly hard workers. For the most part, they are focused solely on their duties. Similar to the nursing staff, they could benefit from a little more organization and maintaining a standard practice. I would like to shout out Shantelle, Keandra, Jenna, Laurie, Joe, Shaun, and Micheal.
As for the amenities, the facility is very nice overall. It is a soft place to land when seeking help and treatment. On the whole, it is very clean and orderly. Food is provided 3 meals a day sometimes more. As the patient capacity gets higher the amount of food sometimes doesn’t adjust to meet the new influx of people. Laundry is done for you here which is very nice. It does vary based on the BHT doing it. This could benefit from a standard of practice as well. Commitments are offered nightly. They are not associated with the organization directly and come voluntarily. You also have the choice to involve yourself in these commitments as well. I also spent my time here over the Holidays. The staff went above and beyond to make these days feel special and celebratory. Other amenities offered include yoga, facials, massages, reiki, and hair cuts. Yoga has especially had a profound impact on my recovery and mental health.
Shore Point has been open for less than a year. Many of the concerns I voiced are most likely a product of the time it’s been open. I see this facility being very successful in helping patients find recovery in the future.
